Open-ended goals just weren’t working for us. We need to have a timeline and a plan for measuring success. It’s like that for all goals or resolutions, really.

Specific: Be very specific about what you want. If you’re setting finance goals for your own family, be sure they are well defined. Set a dollar amount to save or pay off.
